LiDE scanner: solution for "unable to open twain source"

Again a horrible day with PC Hardware Problems. Now it is a scanner. It is one of the LiDE series from CANON without an external power. I have installed everything required. But when I go to scan i was getting this message "unable to open twain source" la bla bla bla....

Very easy first step. Reinstall the whole Software package. Frankly speaking it didn't work. I was trying all this thing on my laptop. Suddenly I thought being a mobile device Laptop's USB ports will not be that much powerful to drive a whole scanner. I switched to my desktop and now it is working fine. But I think if you want to use your scanner with a low powered USB then you can always use a Powered USB HUB. By the way my desktop is restarting frequently when I am driving the scanner. Anyway nothing to do. I have to scan now.
